'Game Of Thrones' actor Momoa will make his debut as Aquaman in next year's mash-up movie
Director Zack Snyder has shared the first picture of Jason Momoa as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Game Of Thrones actor Momoa – who played Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy series – will make his debut as Aquaman in Snyder’s superhero mash-up movie, out next year (2016), before starring in a standalone Aquaman film which is set for release in 2018.
Aside from a brief appearance at the end of last year’s The Lego Movie, these will be the first big screen appearances for Aquaman, who possesses an assortment of water-based powers and made his DC Comics debut in 1941.
Snyder finished filming Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice in December (2014) and the eagerly-anticipated superhero sequel is set for release on March 25, 2016.
Alongside Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, the film will star Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Batman’s butler Alfred and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Videos of the Batmobile on set were recently leaked online and can be viewed here.
