Host Naga Munchetty confused the actor and the R&B singer live on air

A presenter of BBC Breakfast confused the name of Bond actor Daniel Craig with that of R&B singer Craig David during a recent news report.

Host Naga Munchetty was discussing new 007 film Spectre on the morning programme on Thursday when the mistake took place.

“We’ve seen quite a lot of that from Craig David,” she is heard telling a reporter via TV link, before stopping and spluttering: “I mean, in the films lately”.

The moment was caught on camera by eagle-eyed viewers. Watch in the clip below.

It will be released in the UK and Ireland on October 26, then opening in cinemas internationally on various later dates, with its US release scheduled for November 6.

Joining Daniel Craig’s 007 are double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz as a character called Franz Oberhauser, former Sherlock star Andrew Scott as a member of MI6 named Denbigh, Dave Bautista as a character called Mr Hinx, Blue Is The Warmest Colour‘s Lea Seydoux as a Bond girl named Madeleine Swann, Italian actress Monica Bellucci as another female lead, Lucia Sciarra, and Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman as a character named Estrella.

Also returning alongside Craig are his Skyfall cast-mates Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear (Bill Tanner) and Ralph Fiennes (M). The film’s official plot synopsis teases: “In Spectre, a cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”
