Warner Bros CEO sheds some light on how Batman will be portrayed in 'Man Of Steel' sequel
Ben Affleck‘s Batman will be a “tired and weary” take on the caped crusader who is also “seasoned”, according to the CEO of Warner Bros.
Affleck signed up last month (August) to play Batman opposite Henry Cavill‘s Superman in the forthcoming sequel to Man Of Steel. Plot details are currently unknown but director Zack Snyder has hinted that the two superheroes will not see eye to eye, earning the movie an intriguing nickname: “Batman v Superman”.
Now Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara has shed some light on how Batman will be portrayed in the film. Speaking at a conference in LA yesterday (September 12), Deadline reports, he described Affleck’s Batman as “kind of tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for a while”.
Some fans disagreed with the casting of Affleck as Batman and an online petition to remove him from the role has collected over 90,000 signatures. However, Tsujihara insisted that the actor is “perfect for the vision” and said of the film: “We think it’s going to be huge.”
Meanwhile, it’s recently been announced that Snyder will start shooting the so-called “Batman v Superman” movie in Michigan early next year (2014).
Alongside Cavill as Superman and Affleck as Batman, Amy Adams is confirmed to be returning as Lois Lane and her Man Of Steel castmates Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne have also inked deals to reprise their roles. Warner Bros has given the film a release date of July 17, 2015.
