Bond villain Dave Bautista drops Blade Runner 2 hint

Has Bautista been added to the sequel's cast?

Spectre Bond villain Dave Bautista has tweeted a reference to Blade Runner alongside an excited message about making an announcement, strongly hinting at his involvement in the forthcoming sequel.

Bautista tweeted an image in which he is staring at an origami unicorn, the same symbol that Harrison Ford‘s character Rick Deckard clutches at the end of the 1982 original, A key part of the film, it is intended (as has since been confirmed by director Ridley Scott) to confirm that Deckard is a replicant.

As well as the most recent Bond movie, Bautista has also featured in Heist, Guardians of the Galaxy and Riddick.

House Of Cards star Robin Wright is reported to have joined Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in the sequel which is due to launch in January 2018.

The idea for the sequel, which is understood to take place several decades after the conclusion of Blade Runner, was devised by Scott and writer Hampton Fancher.

Scott has previously revealed that Ford’s iconic character Rick Deckard will not appear in the entirety of the (yet to be formally titled) Blade Runner 2, saying: “Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it’s about finding him; he comes in in the third act.”
