Actor Brooke McCarter, who played Paul, a vampire in The Lost Boys, died today (December 22) aged 52.
His family announced his death on Facebook, revealing that the had a genetic liver condition. The statement read, “Brooke was our loving son, brother, father, cousin, nephew and friend.”

After appearing in 1987’s ‘The Lost Boys’ McCarter was cast in 1989 John Belushi biopic Wired but left acting in 1998, later returning to horror comedy in 2009 as Jackie in The Uh-Oh Show
The star of ‘The Lost Boys’ also returned to horror conventions for fans of the classic horror comedy which also starred Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patrick and Corey Haim.

He had earlier appeared as Tyler in the 1986 skating film Thrashin’, which was where the careers of Tony Hawk, Josh Brolin and Red Hot Chili Peppers began.
McCarter started his career as a model with the Ford agency in New York City after winning a national talent competition, and later appeared in adverts for Pepsi, Chevrolet and Levi’s.
