Marvel president Kevin Fiege says the sequel will link closely with 'Avengers Assemble'

Captain America 2 will have closer links with Avengers Assemble than the other Marvel sequels.

Kevin Fiege, head of Marvel Studios, has said that Chris Evans‘ next solo outing as the US super-soldier will tie in with the current Joss Whedon mash-up currently breaking box-office records.

He told CHUD: “As we go forward – particularly in Iron Man 3 – [there’s] the notion of how singular the stories can become. Iron Man 3 is a very singular Tony Stark story. As is Thor 2.

Cap, who is stuck in the modern day with no friends or family, there will be some revelations of who is still alive from his days in World War II, but SHIELD and Nick Fury are kind of his confidants right now. So of all these movies, Captain America 2 will be most closely associated with Avengers.”

A second Avengers movie was this this week confirmed by Disney. Captain America 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on April 4, 2014. Watch the trailer for the first movie below.
