Carrie Fisher hints at ‘Star Wars’ return again

Actress says Disney are sending a trainer to her house to whip her into Princess Leia shape

Carrie Fisher has dropped more hints that she will be returning to Star Wars.

In a magazine interview last month (March), Fisher appeared to confirm she would be reprising her iconic role as Princess Leia, but quickly backtracked and insisted she was “joking”. However, she has now spoken out about Disney’s new Star Wars movie again.

During a speech this Saturday (April 27) at a Canadian sci-fi convention attended by the Calgary Herald, the actress joked: “I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before.”

Continuing to riff on Star Wars, she added: “I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”

Meanwhile, the less playful Harrison Ford has come close to confirming his return as Han Solo, saying last month (March): “I think it’s happening.” Mark Hamill has admitted he is in talks to reprise his role as Luke Skywalker.

The new Star Wars movie is being helmed by JJ Abrams, director of the soon-to-be-released Star Trek Into Darkness and co-creator of Lost. Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt has been hired to pen the script and Disney is aiming for a 2015 release.
