Cooper shot some scenes for the remake during his time at Glastonbury 2017
A trailer for the remake of A Star Is Born has been released – check it out below.
The upcoming movie sees ‘Poker Face’ pop star Lady Gaga take on a major acting role. Actor Bradley Cooper made his directional debut with the film, which he co-stars in and co-wrote.
The classic film musical follows a rising star who falls in love with an ageing rocker, only to watch her career take off as his goes into decline. The role of the ambitious female singer has previously been played by Janet Gaynor (1937), Judy Garland (1954), and Barbra Streisand (1976).
In the first trailer for new movie, we see Cooper’s character Jackson Maine singing onstage and struggling with alcoholism. Cooper filmed his performance scenes during his visit to Glastonbury in 2017.
Later, we see him meet Gaga’s character Ally, who’s singing in a small club.
“I don’t sing my own songs. I just don’t feel comfortable,” an insecure Ally says in the clip. “Almost every single person has told me they liked the way I sounded but they didn’t like the way I look.”
As well as starring in the new movie, Gaga also penned original music for the soundtrack with Cooper, former collaborator Mark Ronson and more.
A Star Is Born hits cinemas on October 5.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga recently responded to a video of a teenage Cardi B singing her hit ‘Bad Romance’.
