Cinema apologises after playing NSFW ‘Sausage Party’ trailer before ‘Finding Dory’ screening

Seth Rogen's 'adult' animated comedy will hit cinemas in August

A cinema in California has been forced to apologise after accidentally showing an “inappropriate” trailer for Seth Rogen’s ‘adult’ animated comedy Sausage Party before a screening of new Pixar film Finding Dory.

Rogen has described Sausage Party as being “a movie about sausages in a supermarket that need to get back to their aisle before the fourth of July.” It stars Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, David Krumholtz, Nick Kroll, Michael Cera, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Bill Hader and Rogen himself.

The Brenden Concord cinema in California aired a R-Rated trailer for Sausage Party, Yahoo reports.

Following the incident, the company’s vice-president of operations, Walter Eichinger, said: “Playing that trailer was a one-time, honest mistake by a theatre manager moving screens around in an effort to accommodate several large, last-minute groups wanting to see Dory. The wrong movie was started by mistake.”

“We regret it, apologise for it and we are not happy that it happened. We fully realise that this trailer is not appropriate for Dory and we would never schedule something like that.”
