The script will closely follow the original, although it will apparently have its “own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence.”

There are currently no more details available about the plans for The Warriors. It is as yet unknown who will direct or star in the remake, or when it will be released.

The 1979 film was directed by Walter Hill and followed a gang through the seedy streets of New York after they have been falsely accused of a gang leader’s murder. It was based on Sol Yurick’s novel of the same name.
