Daniel Radcliffe says his new film ‘Horns’ is ‘Fight Club mixed with Black Swan’

Director Alexandre Aja's fantasy thriller is released in cinemas October 29

Daniel Radcliffe has revealed his new film, the fantasy thriller Horns, is like “Fight Club mixed with Black Swan“. Director Alexandre Aja’s horror mash up is released in cinemas October 29.

Speaking in an interview to promote the release of Horns, the Harry Potter star told NME the “funny, macabre and violent” film is like nothing else he’s ever done.

“It’s very, very dark and, I think, incredibly funny,” explained Radcliffe. “But I made the mistake when I met the director of telling him that and he was like, ‘It’s not a comedy’. So I had to back track very quickly! It was a great chance to play an anti-hero. And while you root for him throughout he does some really horrible things to people. It was great fun!”

Based on the book by Stephen King’s son Joe Hill, the author has described the film as a “tragi-comic-horredy”. It follows the story of Radcliffe’s radio DJ Ig Perrish. Wrongly accused of his girlfriend’s violent killing he has become a social pariah in his small American hometown. Ig awakes on the anniversary of Merrin’s (Juno Temple) death to find horns growing from his head.

He discovers they have the ability to drive people to confess their sins and give in to selfish impulses. Ig decides to use this wicked tool to discover the circumstances of his girlfriend’s death and to seek revenge by finding the true murderer.
