Disney releases another two new ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ teasers – watch

Massively anticipated blockbuster hits UK cinema screens on December 17

Disney has released another two new TV spots for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The first of the new teasers focuses on Rey, the character played in J.J. Abrams’ film by up-and-coming British actress Daisy Ridley. In a recent interview, Ridley revealed that Abrams called her acting “wooden” on the first day of filming. Watch the new teaser below.

The second of the new teasers is darker, and mainly features Adam Driver’s villainous character, Rylo Ken. Check it out below.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in the UK on Thursday, December 17, a day earlier than in the US. The Motion Picture Association of America has given the film a PG-13 rating based on its “sci-fi action violence”, which makes it only the second Star Wars film not to be rated PG.

The story takes place 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi but specific plot details are being kept tightly under wraps. The film’s script was penned by director JJ Abrams, Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt and Star Wars franchise veteran Lawrence Kasdan.

Alongside Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and the returning trio of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, the film’s cast includes John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis. Abrams has recently revealed that Carrie Fisher’s Leia will not be referred to as “Princess” in the film, but has instead been given a new, more military-sounding title.

Meanwhile, Hamill has suggested that his character Luke Skywalker will be in isolation during The Force Awakens, adding: “There are lots of surprises in this movie.”
