Elizabeth Olsen confirms her role in ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’

Olsen will play the Scarlet Witch, the twin sister of Aaron Taylor-Johnson's 'Kick-Ass'

Elizabeth Olsen is officially on board for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Last month (October), Samuel L Jackson appeared to let slip that Olsen had been cast as the Scarlet Witch, the twin sister of Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s character Quicksilver. Now Olsen has confirmed her role in an interview with MTV News.

Discussing Kick-Ass star Taylor-Johnson, with whom she will also appear in next year’s Godzilla reboot, the actress said: “We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister. It’s also fun because even though in Godzilla we play husband and wife, we don’t have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I’m so excited… to actually work with each other. I think it’s going to be fun.”

She also praised The Avengers: Age Of Ultron director Joss Whedon, saying: “He’s very smart. He’s too smart. He might be too smart. Some people are too smart for their own good, but he’s amazing.”

Whedon is due to start shooting in London early next year (2014) and Marvel has set a release date of May 1, 2015. James Spader has signed up to play the title character of Ultron, a well-known supervillain from the Marvel universe.

Alongside Spader, Olsen and Taylor-Johnson, who came on board at the end of October, original cast members Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Jackson are all set to reprise their roles from last year’s The Avengers.
