This lengthier teaser includes new glimpses of Benedict Cumberbatch's mysterious villain

A new, longer Star Trek Into Darkness trailer has appeared online – scroll down and click ‘play’ to watch it.

The extended trailer lasts for nearly two minutes, twice the length of the teaser that appeared last week (December 6). As well as showing plenty of Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk, the new trailer includes fresh glimpses of the film’s mysterious villain, played by Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch.

Cumberbatch has recently dismissed rumours that he is actually reviving a classic Star Trek baddie called Khan. He said of his role: “I play John Harrison who’s a terrorist and an extraordinary character in his own right. He’s somebody who is not your two-dimensional cookie cutter villain.”
