Zack Snyder-director Superman movie lands in cinemas on June 14
With just one week until the film arrives, the final Man Of Steel trailer has been revealed – you can watch the clip by scrolling down and clicking ‘play’.
The action-packed promo appears to be a summary of the full film, as it begins with General Zod (Michael Shannon) fighting Jor-El (Russell Crowe), destroying Krypton, and Kal-el (Henry Cavill) being dispatched to earth. We then see Kal-el grow up and eventually becoming Superman.
Man Of Steel opens in cinemas on June 14. British actor Henry Cavill stars in the lead role alongside Adams as Lane and Russell Crowe as his biological father Jor-El. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane appear as his adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.
Man Of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300) from a script by David S Goyer, whose previous screenwriting credits include Batman Begins and the Blade films. The Dark Knight trilogy’s Christopher Nolan collaborated with Goyer on the film’s story and also served as a producer.
However, Goyer has previously insisted that Man Of Steel will have a very different tone to Nolan’s Batman films. “Relatable and realistic doesn’t necessarily mean dark,” he explained. “I think it would be inappropriate for us to approach a Superman film as if we were doing The Dark Knight. The Batman films are a lot more nihilistic; Superman has always been a story about hope.”
