Final ‘Twilight’ movie dominates this year’s Razzie nominations

Meanwhile, Rihanna will compete against Jennifer Lopez for the Worst Supporting Actress gong

The final Twilight movie is the leading contender for the 33rd annual Razzie Awards, which recognise the worst films of the year.

Across the 10 categories, which range from Worst Picture to Worst Screen Ensemble, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 picks up a whopping eleven nominations. Stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will compete for individual prizes as well as the Worst Screen Couple title.

Right behind Twilight, flop Adam Sandler comedy That’s My Boy is lavished with eight nominations. Action flick Battleship receives seven, including one for Rihanna, who faces competition from Jennifer Lopez in the Worst Supporting Actress category.

Other nominees include David Hasselhoff, Barbra Streisand and Vanilla Ice, who earns a Worst Supporting Actor nomination for playing himself in That’s My Boy. The famous gold spray-painted Razzie statuettes – said to be worth $4.79 (£2.93) each – will be given out at a ceremony in LA on February 23, the night before the Oscars.

The Golden Raspberry or “Razzie” Awards were founded by Hollywood publicist John JB Wilson in 1981 and have been held every year since on “Oscars eve”. Madonna has won an impressive nine Razzies over the years, while Sylvester Stallone has received a record 30 nominations.
