Radcliffe joins Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg and Morgan Freeman in the sequel
The first teaser trailer for Now You See Me: The Second Act has been released.
The sequel is set three years after the original film and introduces Daniel Radcliffe as Walter Tressler, the son of Michael Caine’s character Arthur Tressler. The plot follows Radcliffe’s character as he seeks to bring bank-robbing magicians “The Four Horsemen” to justice following the imprisonment of his father.
Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Dave Franco have reprised their roles as “The Four Horseman”, joined once again by Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Another new addition to the cast is Lizzy Caplan, who plays a character called Lula.
The sequel is directed by Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), who takes over the director’s chair from the original film’s Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk, Clash Of The Titans).
The original Now You See Me film became one of summer 2013’s summer’s surprise box office hits, grossing over $350 million (£227 million) at cinemas worldwide from an estimated $75 million (£48 million) budget. Makers Lionsgate revealed in May that a third Now You See Me film is already in the works.
