First picture of Superman revealed ahead of ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice’

Henry Cavill will return as Clark Kent for 2016 release

A new image of Henry Cavill’s Superman from Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been revealed.

The image, which can be seen above, shows the actor in his superhero outfit standing in the rain – a gritty image in keeping with director Zack Synder’s previous Superman film, Man Of Steel.

Speaking to USA Today about his relationship with both Cavill and the character, Snyder said: “We’ve both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit. The more time I spend with Henry, the more he’s Superman to me.”

Hyping up the 2016 release, he added: “You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it’s Batman and Superman, let’s just be honest. I don’t know how you get bigger than that.”

Ben Affleck will appear in the film as Batman alongside Henry Cavill. Amy Adams will be returning as Lois Lane and fellow Man Of Steel cast members Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne have officially signed up to reprise their roles too.

The movie also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.

It was revealed earlier this year that Batman v Superman has been delayed by 10 months and will now open on May 6, 2016 to “allow the film-makers time to realise fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story”. The film was originally slated for a summer 2015 release.
