The Cubs are World Series Champions for the first time in 108 years

Footage and photos of Bill Murray’s drunk, tearful and ecstatic celebrating of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series has gone viral. Check it out below.

The hype around last night’s game was at an all-time high, as the baseball team won the World Series Championship for the very first time in their 108 year history – putting to bed the myth that they were cursed.

In the run-up to the game, Bill Murray not only crashed a White House press conference to speak of his love for the cubs, but has also taken the time to sing to the crowd at a recent game – even with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.

Now, along with photos of Murray’s tearful and excited celebrations, he also gave a string of post-game interviews in which he cancelled school for all Chicago children, and drunkenly interviewed Cubs boss Theo Epstein:

Meanwhile, Chicago’s own Smashing Pumpkins’ frontman Billy Corgan hit out at other celebrity Cubs’ fans for not appearing at past games.

“I don’t talk to other Cubs celebrities,” he said. “In fact, I’m anti-Cubs celebrity. Although I know a few Cubs celebrities, other Cubs celebrities tend to show up when the playoffs are around. I don’t necessarily see them in June. I might be a little biased being a Chicagoan year-round.”
