Gal Gadot and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson team up for ‘Red Notice’

The film is set to be released in 2020

Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and Jumaji’s Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have teamed up for new action movie ‘Red Notice’.

The pair have previously worked together on 2011’s Fast Five, 2013’s Fast & Furious 6 and 2015’s Furious 7.

The premise for the new movie is currently under wraps but is described as “a globe-trotting action comedy” that will also star another as-yet-announced male lead.

‘Red Notice’ has also secured Johnson’s first $20million pay-day. According to The Independent, Gadot will play a ‘brilliant and mysterious figure in the art world’.

The film is set for release in the summer of 2020 and will be directed by Rawson Marshall, who previously worked with Johnson on ‘Central Intelligence’ and ‘Skyscraper’. Thurber reportedly flew to London, where Gadot has been working on Wonder Woman 2, to convince the actress to join the project.

Universal Pictures purchased rights to the movie after what’s been reported as a ‘heated mutli-studio bidding battle’. How much they paid for those rights is yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, Johnson opened up about his battle with depression earlier this year.

“Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed. I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly,” he said.

He also spoke of his “absolute worst time”, when his dreams of being a professional football player were ended by multiple injuries. Later, he was recruited for the Canadian Football League, but lasted less than a year. His girlfriend also broke up with him around the same time.

“We both healed, but we’ve always got to do our best to pay attention when other people are in pain,” he said. “We have to help them through it and remind them they are not alone.”
