George Clooney to release a brand of tequila with Cindy Crawford’s husband

The pair plan to name the line Casamigos

George Clooney is said to be launching his own brand of tequila with Cindy Crawford’s husband, restaurant/bar owner Rande Gerber.

As 213 Nightlife reports, the pair, who are good friends, will name the line Casamigos, after the homes they both own in Mexico. The two have been drinking Casamigos for the past few years but now plan to release it to the public.

Gerber said:

I don’t think we’re going to be following all the rules. We know we have a product we love and we drink, and other people will enjoy. The product speaks for itself.

On Friday (March 16), Clooney was arrested while protesting at the Sudanese Embassy. Joined by his father, journalist Nick Clooney, US Representative Jim Moran of Virginia and NAACP president Ben Jealous, Clooney blocked the entrance to the Sudanese embassy. Clooney and the others were given three orders to disperse by the police and refused to do so. The actor and activist was released shortly after, telling reporters: “What we’ve been trying to achieve today is we’re trying to bring attention to an on-going emergency. Our job right now is to try to bring attention to it, and one of those ways was, apparently, getting arrested.”

It’s been quite a week for celebrity-endorsed beverages. Just the other day we revealed that The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn had developed his own brand of beer, going by the name of Clear Heart. You can watch a video of that earth-shattering event below.
