Stars wave goodbye to JK Rowling franchise after 10 years
Stars of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two hit the red carpet in London last night (July 8) for the final installment of the JK Rowling franchise.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Rowling all waved goodbye to the series at the world premiere of the final film in Trafalgar Square. Watch footage of the stars strutting the red carpet above.
“I just feel incredibly sad really,” said Watson, who plays Hermione Granger. “It’s amazing to think I will probably never be part of something as big as this ever again. As an actress to be part of something that people really love that much, is wonderful.”
Grint, who has played the part of Ron Weasley for the past 10 years, also expressed his sadness at waving goodbye to the final wizard film based on Rowling‘s book series.
“It’s such a long time and to have that documented on film – our growth – is quite surreal really when you think about it,” he added.
Other cast members on the red carpet included Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Alan Rickman, who plays Professor Severus Snape and Julie Walters (Molly Weasley).
The first movie in the book series, Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, which made stars of its young cast, Radcliffe, Watson and Grint made its screen debut in 2001.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two is released on July 15.
