Hugh Jackman on ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’: ‘It’s like three movies in one’

Superhero sequel with huge ensemble cast opens in cinemas in July of next year (2014)

Hugh Jackman has likened X-Men: Days Of Future Past to “three movies in one” because of its massive ensemble cast.

Director Bryan Singer brought together X-Men stars old and new for the forthcoming sequel and the entire cast appeared together at San Diego Comic-Con in July, a gathering Singer celebrated by tweeting a memorable photo.

Discussing the film in a new interview with Access Hollywood, Jackman said: “Having sat at Comic-Con on that panel with that extraordinary cast, I keep saying it’s like two movies in one, but with the size of it it’s really three in one. It really is going to blow people away because of the story. Bryan Singer, I think, is going to become the first director to make increasingly better movies in a franchise – I’m not sure if there’s anyone else that’s done it.”

Jackman is joined in X-Men: Days Of Future Past by Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shaun Ashmore, Omar Sy and Evan Peters, among others.

Singer starting shooting the sequel in April of this year (2013) in Toronto and confirmed on August 18 that he had finished filming. Some of the action takes place in 1973, the director has revealed, and time travel will be used as a major plot device. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on July 18, 2014.
