‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ closes in on its Finnick Odair?

Robert Pattinson has already ruled himself out of the running for the part

The shortlist for the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is apparently down to three.

The character is a major player in the second novel in the series, a hunky tribute from District 4 and a former winner of the brutal TV bloodbath.

E! Online are now reporting that a source told them that studio Lionsgate has three actors in its sights: Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch and Garret Hedlund.

The latest development comes after Robert Pattinson ruled himself out of the running for the role. After being linked to the part, the actor said: “I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent and he was like, ‘No… no-one’s going to offer you that part.'”

It has been suggested that the part could be cast by the end of the week. However, a second source says that the studio is looking for an unknown actor for the part, rather than an established name.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is due for release on November 22, 2013. Watch the trailer for the first movie below.
