Comedy film about the Carphone Warehouse store manager-turned-opera star opens in October
The first trailer for One Chance, the forthcoming comedy film about Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts, has been released. Watch it below.
James Corden stars as Potts, the former Carphone Warehouse store manager who became a chart-topping opera singer after belting out ‘Nessun Dorma’ on Britain’s Got Talent in 2007. Potts’ debut album, also called ‘One Chance’, would go on to sell over 3.5 million copies worldwide.
Julie Walters co-stars as Potts’ mother and the cast also includes Mackenzie Crook, Colm Meaney, Jemima Rooper and Alexandra Roach, as well as a cameo appearance from Reggie Yates.
Simon Cowell served as a producer on the movie, which was made by his production house Syco Entertainment in collaboration with The Weinstein Company. The Devil Wears Prada‘s David Frankel directed from a script by Justin Zackham (The Big Wedding, The Bucket List.
One Chance is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next week (September 9) before opening in UK cinemas on October 25.
