Westworld’s James Marsden will star in new live-action ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ movie

'Deadpool' director Tim Miller will executive produce

James Marsden will star in a new ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ movie that’s described as a live-action/animation hybrid.

It has not been revealed whether Marsden will be playing a human or voicing Sonic.

Paramount secured the rights to the movie back in 2017 and have also confirmed Jeff Fowler will direct. Fowler has previously worked on the visual effects for 2009’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’.

It marks the first time that Sonic The Hedgehog has been adapted for the big screen. The movie has been given a release date of Nov. 15, 2019.

Meanwhile, Marsden is currently starring in Westworld season 2. The show returned to screens last month, with 10 episodes set to air.

A release date for the new episodes has not been announced just yet. The gap between the conclusion of season 1 and season 2 was 14 months – so we could be looking at a similar time scale here, meaning a 2019 or maybe even 2020 air date.
