Jennifer Lawrence says she would rather appear in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ than ‘X-Men’

The actor will star in 'Passengers', which is released on December 21

Jennifer Lawrence has expressed a wish to join the Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise over appearing in an X-Men movie again.

The actor, who previously starred in the X-Men series, spoke of the desire during an interview to promote her new film Passengers, in which she performs alongside Chris Pratt.

When MTV asked Lawrence about becoming a part of the Guardians world, she responded: “I would love to. I would choose that over doing another X-Men movie maybe.

“I won’t be Mystique in the X-Men movies, but I would love to be Mystique in Guardians Of The Galaxy. I wonder if I could do that,” she added.

Pratt, who was in the interview with her, said “It just happened” and shook her hand. He continued, joking: “This is a binding legal contract.”

Lawrence played Mystique in three X-Men movies – First Class, Days Of Future Past, and Apocalypse – but has been hesitant over returning to the series. She told reporters in 2015 that Apocalypse would be her last X-Men movie, but earlier this year said she was “dying to come back“.

Passengers is a romantic sci-fi thriller in which Lawrence and Pratt play two passengers on a spaceship destined for a new planet who wake up 90 years before they arrive at their destination. It opens in cinemas on December 21.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, meanwhile, stars Pratt as Peter Quill and is set for a cinematic release on April 28, 2017.
