Actress recalls shooting 'her first real sex scene' in upcoming sci-fi romance 'Passenger'
Jennifer Lawrence has admitted that she “got really, really drunk” before shooting a sex scene with Chris Pratt recently.
Lawrence and Pratt started shooting sci-fi romance Passengers in September and the script includes what Lawrence described as her “first real sex scene”, an experience she found difficult to deal with.
“It was weird. And everything was done right; nobody did anything wrong. It’s just a bizarre experience,” the Oscar-winning actress recalled in a group interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Asked how she prepared for the potentially uncomfortable scene, Lawrence replied: “I got really, really drunk. But then that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don’t know.’ And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that.”
Continuing, Lawrence revealed that she even called her mother to ask for reassurance after shooting the scene, adding: “It was just very vulnerable. And you don’t know what’s too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then … That was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”
Passengers starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt is set for release on December 21, 2016. The actress’s latest film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, is in cinemas now. Read the NME review here.
