She's favourite to win the best actress prize at this Sunday's Oscars for her 'Playbook' performance
Jennifer Lawrence is set to reunite with Bradley Cooper in a new movie from Silver Linings Playbook director David O Russell.
According to Deadline, the actress is being lined up for a starring role in Russell’s next film project, which currently has no title but was formerly known as American Bullshit. The film centres on a notorious 1970s FBI sting operation that brought down several congressmen.
Lawrence would star as the wife of a character played by Christian Bale, joining an ensemble cast that already includes her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Cooper. Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner are also set to appear.
Meanwhile, Silver Linings Playbook will compete for eight awards at the Oscars this Sunday (February 24), including Best Director for Russell. Lawrence is favourite to take home the Best Actress prize, while Cooper will battle Lincoln star Daniel Day-Lewis for the Best Actor trophy. Scroll down and click ‘play’ to watch the film’s trailer.
Lawrence is best known for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games trilogy. The second film, Catching Fire, opens in cinemas on November 22 this year. She is also set to reprise her role as Mystique in Bryan Singer’s new X-Men movie, which begins filming this April.
