Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong frontman features in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

Joe Lean of Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong had a role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The musician and actor – real name Joe Van Moyland – was frontman in indie band Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong from 2006-2010. Since then, he’s pursued an acting career – appearing in Peep Show as Sophie’s wannabe-musician brother, The Tudors and Channel 4’s Fresh Meat.

Now, according to his IMDb page, Van Moyland features in the latest Star Wars episode – portraying a ’Temporary Command Center Resistance Pilot’ in the movie.

The Last Jedi was released in cinemas worldwide last week.  It’s been confirmed since that Prince William and Harry do make a cameo in the movie, after John Boyega appeared to suggest that their appearance ended up on the cutting room floor.

Fans were also convinced that they had spotted James Corden flying an X-Wing fighter, before the comedian shut down the theory – while Ellie Goulding confirmed that she filmed a cameo for the movie, but that it was cut.

Has anybody seen Star Wars yet and seen someone who resembles me in it,” the pop star tweeted. “awkward if I got cut. Haha.”

She continued: “Either way it was a really awesome experience. Great to be in the rebel army for a day :)”

Meanwhile, Rian Johnson, director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, has responded to ongoing criticism of the new film from fans.
