'Argo' actor says the third instalment in the franchise is 'different from the first two'
John Goodman has revealed his role in the forthcoming The Hangover Part III.
The Argo actor told US chat show host Jimmy Fallon that he plays “a guy who likes to kill people and dress in track clothes” in the third instalment of the successful comedy franchise.
Goodman went on to say that the new film will be “different from the first two and is insanely funny”. He also praised his co-stars, and labelled Zach Galifianakis a “genius”.
He said: “They are the nicest guys to work with and they are all insanely funny. Especially Zach. He’s a genius but he’s the sweetest genius you’ll ever see in your life. Just a nice guy.” You can watch the interview below, which also includes a sneak-preview of Goodman as Sully in Pixar’s Monsters University.
The Hangover saw Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis lose their soon-to-be-married friend while on his stag do in Las Vegas, while The Hangover Part II continued their adventures in Thailand. Director Todd Phillips says The Hangover Part III is ”a fitting end to this three-part opera of mayhem and bad decisions”.
“The Hangover Part III is Alan [Galifianakis]’s story,” added Phillips. “He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.”
For the first time The Hangover won’t involve a wedding or a bachelor party but will start with the funeral of Alan’s father before the gang hit the road with Las Vegas being only one of their stops. The Hangover Part III is scheduled for release on May 24, 2013.
