Actor reportedly cast in Anderson's next film 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'
Johnny Depp will reportedly star in the next film from Wes Anderson.
Anderson, cult director of The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, is known for his regular collaborations with actors Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson. However, he has never worked with Depp before.
According to Deadline, the actor has been been cast as the lead in The Grand Budapest Hotel, the next film to be written and directed by Anderson. Anderson will also produce the film alongside Scott Rudin and Steven Rales, both of whom he has worked with before.
Other actors linked to roles in The Grand Budapest Hotel include Murray, Wilson, Jude Law, Angela Lansbury, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe and Adrien Brody. However, official casting announcements have yet to be made and it is not known when the film will begin shooting.
Anderson’s most recent film – Moonrise Kingdom, starring Murray, Bruce Willis and Tilda Swinton – was released in May. Depp appeared in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows earlier this year and has recently been filming The Lone Ranger. The first picture of Depp as Tonto in the upcoming Western movie was unveiled in May.
