He's in talks to star in a 'romantic dramedy' called 'The Last Drop'
Justin Timberlake is lining up a film role as an alcoholic journalist.
According to Variety, the singer-turned-actor is in talks to star in a “romantic dramedy” called The Last Drop. The film tells the story of a New York Magazine restaurant critic who must beat booze addiction in order to win over the young woman he falls for.
Peter Sollett, best known for cult rom-com Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist, is in line to direct. The script has been written by up-and-coming duo Phil and Brandon Young. The pair recently completed a screenplay about the relationship between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as The Rolling Stones recorded ‘Exile On Main St’.
Timberlake’s latest film, sports drama Trouble With The Curve, opened in the US earlier this month (September 2012). It hits British cinemas in November and you can watch the trailer below. He also appears in the new Coen Brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis, which is scheduled for release this December.
Meanwhile, the increasingly prolific actor has just finished shooting Runner, Runner, a film about online gaming co-starring Ben Affleck. His last album, ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’, came out in 2006.
