Liam Neeson: ‘I don’t have a fucking clue what ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is about’

Actor is staying tight-lipped on whether he's involved in the next caped crusader film...

Liam Neeson has distanced himself from rumours that he will feature in the forthcoming Batman sequel The Dark Knight Rises.

The actor – who took on the role of Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins, which was the first of the films about the caped crusader to be directed by Christopher Nolan – insisted that he didn’t “have a fucking clue” what the movie is about.

Neeson’s voice was reportedly used in the teaser trailer for the flick, but he told MTV:

I’m eager to see this one. I haven’t got a fucking clue what it’s about.

Neeson also hailed Nolan’s films as being “wonderful… very rich, dark and complex”, and said that the death of Heath Ledger, who portrayed The Joker in The Dark Knight, had ensured the film was “cloaked in tragedy”.

Previously, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt had warned fans not to seek out spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises.

The star, who worked with Nolan on last year’s Inception and has signed on to play special assignment police officer John Blake in the sequel, said that the audience would “have the best experience” if they trusted the director.

The Dark Knight Rises sees Christian Bale return as Batman for what is expected to be his final outing in the role. Tom Hardy plays villain Bane and Anne Hathaway plays Catwoman.
