Cinema workers believed that he was waiting for the post-credits sequence.
A man has died during a screening of Avengers: Infinity War in India.
According to the Times of India, the body of 43-year-old Peddapasupula Baasha was discovered after the screening because cinema workers believed that he was waiting for the post-credits sequence that is traditionally included in Marvel movies.
When the film ended, officials removed the man’s 3D glasses to discover that he had passed away with his eyes open.
Although a post-mortem is yet to be carried out, it is believed that Mr Baasha, a construction worker, died from a suspected cardiac arrest.
The incident occurred at the Cinehub Multiplex theatre, located in Proddatur town in Andhra Pradesh.
Since its release last Friday, Avengers: Infinity War has smashed a string of box office records – including the biggest opening day in history.
NME’s official verdict described the film as “an entertaining and surprisingly emotional flick”.
“There are flaws — a lot happens very quickly and some of the supposed main characters feel like cameos. Infinity War is under pressure to be the most exhilarating experience yet, but it sometimes sacrifices story for spectacle”, our review stated.
“Even Thanos (Josh Brolin) could do with a few more lines. For the most part though, this bonkers blockbuster is an entertaining and surprisingly emotional flick that will keep everybody happy.”
