Freeman filmed special sketch during his hosting appearance on 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend
Martin Freeman hosted this weekend’s episode of iconic US comedy show Saturday Night Live, and filmed a special sketch mashing up two of his most famous roles – in the The Hobbit and The Office.
Freeman starred as long-suffering Tim Canterbury in the original BBC version of The Office, which ran for 14 episodes between 2001 and 2003. In recent years, he has led Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy as title character Bilbo Baggins, and the sketch sees him combine the two roles with amusing results.
The final film in The Hobbit trilogy, The Battle Of The Five Armies, opened in cinemas this Friday (December 12). Read NME’s review here.
Meanwhile, Freeman will begin filming the next run of Sherlock episodes begins early next year, with a Christmas special set to air in 2015 followed by a trio of new episodes in 2016. Check out the first picture of Freeman and his co-star Cumberbatch in the new episodes here.
