Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ sent up in ‘honest trailer’ – watch

Screen Junkies poke fun at the film's supposed similarity to 'The Avengers'

Guardians of the Galaxy has been given the now infamous “honest trailer” treatment by Screen Junkies.

The fake five-minute trailer pokes fun at the film’s supposed similarity to the other Marvel blockbuster centred on a team of superheroes, The Avengers, while also branding Guardians of the Galaxy “Marvel’s attempted Star Wars” and claiming the dialogue is filled with “space mumbo jumbo”.

Guardians Of The Galaxy – which starred Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, as well as Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel in voice roles – opened in cinemas in August and went on to rake in over $770 million (£490 million) at cinemas worldwide. A sequel is now in the works and scheduled to open in cinemas in 2017.

Meanwhile, other hit films to have been given an “honest trailer” by Screen Junkies in recent months include Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Fault In Our Stars. They can all be viewed on Screen Junkies’ YouTube channel.
