Actor Matthew McConaughey has undergone a big physical transformation for his latest film role.
McConaughey will star in upcoming American drama thriller, Gold, which sees the actor starring alongside Édgar Ramírez, Bryce Dallas Howard, Michael Landes and more.
According to a press synopsis, McConaughey plays “an unlucky man” named Kenny Wells who embarks on a mission “to find gold deep in the uncharted jungles of Indonesia”.
Filming for the movie began during June in Thailand and New Mexico, with shooting concluding in New York this month.

Meanwhile, McConaughey is reportedly being courted to play Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin in Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man reboot.
The Dallas Buyers Club actor has recently revealed that he has “talked about working” with both Marvel and DC on various projects, but declined to name which ones. “Nothing has been right for me yet,” he said. “But I’m sure open to it.”
