The three Fifty Shades Of Grey novels, which trace the sexual relationship between college graduate Anastasia Steele and businessman Christian Grey, have now sold over 65 million copies worldwide.
EL James (pictured), the British author of the books, sold the screen rights to Universal Pictures and Focus Features back in March 2012. The Social Network producers Dana Brunetti and Michael DeLuca are steering the project and British screenwriter Kelly Marcel has been hired to pen the script.
However, the film still has no director or cast members. Other actresses linked to the Anastacia Steele role include Harry Potter‘s Emma Watson and The Descendants star Shailene Woodley, while Channing Tatum, Henry Cavill and Ryan Gosling have all been mooted as potential Christian Greys.
