Mindy is a Swan...

Actress Mindy Kaling has been revealed as a part-owner of Premier League Swansea City, after details of an American controlling consortium were revealed.

In 2016, US investors Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien led a 68 percent controlling stake buy-out, along with 25 other investors.

Now, research by BBC Sport has revealed that US Office star Kaling is one of the mystery investors – with her ownership equating to one percent of the consortium’s stake.

Other high-profile investors included Los Angeles rams co-owner Chip Rosenbloom and former Everton striker Landon Donovan.

Meanwhile, Kaling’s fans were today given their first glimpse of her in Oceans 8, after the trailer for the Ocean’s Trilogy spin-off debuted earlier today.

Changing focus from the original trilogy’s Danny Ocean (George Clooney), Ocean’s 8 centres on his estranged sister Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), who leads a group of eight women in pulling off a heist at the Met Ball.

Directing the film is The Hunger Games‘ Gary Ross, who wrote the script with Olivia Milch. The original trilogy’s director, Steven Soderbergh, is on board as producer.

Last month, it was also reported that Kaling is creating a small-screen reboot of Four Weddings And A Funeral.

Kaling is developing the series for the streaming service Hulu and it will take an anthology format, with each season depicting a self-contained story which weaves multiple major characters through milestones in their lives.
