Games Of Thrones actress Lena Headey will star, alongside Eva Green as the commander of Xerxes’ naval fleet and Israeli actor Yigal Naor as Xerxes’ father. The cast also boasts Sullivan Stapleton as Athenian general Themistocles and Jack O’Connell as Calisto.

Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder (pictured right), who helmed 300 in 2006, has taken a backseat this time around and has returned as a producer for the graphic novel sequel.

300: Rise Of An Empire will open in cinemas this week (March 7, 2014).
