New ‘X-Men’ movie will feature Lucas Till’s Havok, director confirms

Director Bryan Singer tweets a picture of Till from the film's set

Director Bryan Singer has confirmed that Lucas Till’s Havok will appear in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Singer is currently shooting the sequel in Montreal, Canada and yesterday (July 15) he tweeted a picture of Till in what is presumably a scene from the movie.

In the photo, Till’s character is dressed in a soldier’s uniform and appears to be in some kind of military accommodation block. Till made his debut as Alex Summers aka Havok, a mutant with the ability to absorb and blast out energy, in 2011’s X-Men: First Class.

For the follow-up, he joins a massive ensemble cast that unites First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult with X-Men veterans Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman. Meanwhile, Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is a brand new addition to the cast and will play the film’s main villain.

Some of the action takes place in 1973, Singer has revealed, and time travel will be used as a major plot device. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 18, 2014.
