‘Parks And Recreation’ actor Chris Pratt confirms ‘Jurassic World’ role

Pratt confirms he will star in dinosaur sequel

Parks And Recreation actor Chris Pratt has confirmed his involvement in the eagerly-anticipated Jurassic World.

Speaking to QMI about his role in the dinosaur sequel, Pratt – who will also star in the forthcoming Lego Movie and Guardians Of The Galaxy – said: “For me, Jurassic Park was really kind of my Star Wars. I lined up at the theatre to see it, I saw it opening night, I saw every sequel. I’ve seen it a whole bunch of times… for me that was my big movie. I think I was 13 or 14 when it came out.”

He added: “It’s a big deal for me to be any part of that, let alone this part I’m going to be playing. I’m thrilled about it. Everybody around the world knows that franchise. When you say Jurassic Park, no-one is like, ‘What’s Jurassic Park?’ More people know Jurassic Park than just about anything. I’m thrilled.”

Colin Trevorrow will helm Jurassic World, which is the fourth film in the franchise. Speaking previously about the project, he said: “Reboot is a strong word. This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.”

Universal Pictures has recently given the film an official release date of June 12, 2015. It will arrive in cinemas nearly 14 years after the last instalment in the series, 2001’s Jurassic Park III.
