Rihanna has been cast in Valerian, a new movie from The Fifth Element director Luc Besson.

She joins Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne and Clive Owen in the sci-fi adventure, which writer-director Besson is adapting from a popular series of French 1960s graphic novels.

Besson announced Rihanna’s casting on Instagram earlier today, teasing that she has a “big part” in the film.

Besson is due to start shooting Valerian at the end of this year and the film is set for release on July 21, 2017. Though Rihanna’s role remains unknown, it has been confirmed that DeHaan and Delevingne are playing lead characters Valerian and Laureline, a pair of time-travelling space agents who help to defend a utopian future Earth.

Valerian will be Rihanna’s second major live-action film role following 2012’s Battleship. She also took on a voice role in this year’s computer animated hit Home/.
