'Iron Man' actor shares image of himself with film's executive producer Jeremy Latcham

Robert Downey Jr has revealed the first on-set image from The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

The actor will reprise his role as Iron Man in the eagerly anticipated sequel to 2012 film The Avengers and posted a picture of himself with executive producer Jeremy Latcham, via Twitter, from the set of the film.

The actor, who has played wisecracking scientist Tony Stark in several Marvel pictures since 2008, recently spoke about the film, and hinted that Jeremy Renner’s character Hawkeye would play a pivotal role.

“My two-year-old is crazy about Hawkeye, and I think Jeremy has a lot to do with the plot,” he said. “There are always so many plates to spin to get these things half-right, and I’m really excited about this one.”

As well as Downey Jr. and Renner, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will also feature Chris Evans’ Captain America, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow alongside newcomers including Paul Bettany’s Vision, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver and James Spader’s Ultron.

Since its release in May 2012, The Avengers – a superhero ensemble movie uniting Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk – has become the third highest-grossing film of all time, taking over $1.5 billion (£930 million) at the box office worldwide.
