Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe set to go back to ’70s in ‘The Nice Guys’

A-List actors line-up for new Shane Black film

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe joined the cast of crime-drama film The Nice Guys.

The film will be directed by Iron Man 3 director Shane Black and follows a private eye in the 1970s. Digital Spy reports that the pair are brought together by the mystery of the suicide of a fading porn star, whose aunt claims to have seen alive and well after her supposed death.

The Nice Guys will be produced by Joel Silver and was originally devised as a TV show by Black and co-writer Anthony Bagarozzi.

Meanwhile, The Notebook director Nick Cassevetes recently revealed that Gosling asked him to fire co-star Rachel McAdams while they were making the film. Since making The Notebook together, Gosling and McAdams have not appeared together in any films. They were, however, a couple between 2005-2007.
