Reynolds started shooting the 'Deadpool' solo movie this Monday (March 23)
Ryan Reynolds has shared the first picture of himself in costume as Deadpool in the forthcoming superhero movie of the same name.
“With great power, comes great irresponsibility,” the actor wrote playfully as he posted the picture on Twitter earlier this afternoon (March 27).
Reynolds first played Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool, a Marvel Comics anti-hero famed for his over-chatty personality and tendency to break the fourth wall, in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The character’s long-awaited solo movie has been in the works since 2010.
Visual effects specialist Tim Miller, whose CV includes creating the opening sequence for 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, is making his directorial debut from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the creators of US hoax-based comedy series The Joe Schmo Show.
Miller started shooting this Monday (March 23) in Vancouver, Canada with Reynolds topping a cast that includes Haywire‘s Gina Carano, former Homeland actress Morena Baccarin and Silicon Valley star T.J. Miller. Deadpool is set for release on February 16, 2016.
