The Wu-Tang Clan producer has also signed up to helm an action thriller called 'No Man's Land'
RZA has signed on to direct two new movies, including a biopic of Genghis Khan.
In recent years, Wu Tang Clan‘s producer has branched out into acting with film parts in Due Date and Repo Men and a TV role in Californication. Next year, he will appear alongside Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson in action sequel GI Joe: Retaliation.
Meanwhile, after shooting numerous music videos over the years, RZA is about to release his first film as director. The Man With The Iron Fists, which RZA also co-wrote and stars in alongside Russell Crowe, opens in the US on Friday (November 2). The film’s UK release follows in December and you can watch the trailer below.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, RZA has already lined up two new directing jobs. His next project is likely to be No Man’s Land, an action thriller about a man who steals a priceless diamond from a dangerous criminal.
Meanwhile, RZA has also signed up to direct a film about Genghis Khan, the legendary 13th century warrior and founder of the Mongol Empire. The film has a script by John Milius, whose impressive screenwriting CV includes Apocalypse Now and Conan The Barbarian. RZA is expected to shoot the film next year in China, the country where he made The Man With The Iron Fists.
Meanwhile, RZA has recently revealed that he wants to reunite Wu-Tang Clan to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’. The rap group released their last LP together in 2007.
