Scarlett Johansson joins ‘Iron Man 2’ co-star Robert Downey Jr on indie comedy ‘Chef’

It's the latest film from their 'Iron Man 2' director Jon Favreau

Scarlett Johansson is to reunite with her Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau and co-star Robert Downey Jr on a new indie comedy film called Chef.

The Black Widow actress has joined an impressive ensemble cast that also includes Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), John Leguizamo (Super Mario Bros) and Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire), Variety reports.

In addition to directing from his own script, Favreau will star as Carl Casper, a chef who goes back to basics by starting a food truck after being fired from his restaurant job. Johansson will play Molly, the restaurant’s manager and a sometime love interest for Casper.

“Scarlett is a tremendous talent and I’m honoured to be collaborating with her again. I’m so fortunate to be working with such a fine ensemble,” Favreau said.

Filming is set to begin on July 8 in LA. It will be the first time Favreau and Johansson have worked together since 2010’s Iron Man 2, though the actress teamed up with Downey Jr again on last year’s The Avengers.
