Johansson stars as an alien sent to Earth to prey on hapless Scottish hitchhikers
A full-length trailer for Under The Skin, the forthcoming dark sci-fi thriller starring Scarlett Johansson, is now online. Watch it below.
The film is an adaptation of the acclaimed 2000 novel of the same name by Dutch author Michel Faber. Johansson stars as an alien sent to Earth by a rich corporation on her planet to prey on Scottish hitchhikers so they can be delivered to her compatriots and fattened up for meat.
Sexy Beast‘s Jonathan Glazer directed from a script he co-wrote and shooting took place towards the end of 2011 in Glasgow. The film’s largely Scottish cast also includes Paul Brannigan (Sunshine On Leith) and newcomer Jessica Mance.
Meanwhile, soundtrack was written and recorded by Mica Levi of Micachu & The Shapes (pictured right).
Under The Skin premiered at the Telluride Film Festival at the end of last month (August) and has since played at the Venice International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, where it has built up a considerable amount of buzz. A full UK cinema release is expected early next year (2014).
